There are still some great JRPG's being made...
Bravely Default on the 3DS was possibly my favourite JRPG experience of the last 2 decades (although The World Ends With You on the DS was also fantastic).
I'm still playing through Persona 4 Golden on Vita.
I enjoyed Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE on Wii U.

...and there's the stack of highly regarded recent JRPG titles that I haven't even got around to - a still sealed Persona 5 is sat on my shelf, and if I ever get a Switch then Octopath Traveller will be a day one buy for me.

i'm playing Final Fantasy 1,2 and 4 in this period (PSP emulated via pc)
i like how this psp ports are made, upgrading only graph & sound, and leaving intact the great mechanic behind
