I need a new space strategy game to play, any suggestions?
#1
Im looking for a space strategy game if possible one that u can build your own ships in. Sins of a Solar Empire seems like a good choice and im thinking of getting it but actually im not sure If my computer can handle it or if you can play multiplayer. Anyone know about Sins, StarCraft or other good space strats that let u build your own ships or have other cool features, especially one that i can buy on steam?
Just to add, I have an Intel HD 4000 and for me it runs kinda well with some games on "highest settings" (1440x900 + 4x anti-aliasing). I gotta say there is some lag when moving quickly, but turning down the graphics or decreasing the resolution helps a lot.

Thanks in advance!
I've done questionable things.

not my fave genre, im mostly on arcade side of space sim, like Colony Wars

the only one i have played at time was the Homeworld serie, and i liked it. iirc the second chapter has a building ship mode... not sure, too much time lol
also there's a remastered/remix new version of this,
but its probably out of my shitty pc reach Smile

Star Wars Empire at War, and the Forces of Corruption add on, is pretty good. Space battles and land battles in a vaguely Starcraft/C&C format.
It used to be great online back in the day, but I only ever played the space battles that way.
As far as other Star Wars PC strategy games go, they're all pretty good, with the older ones being Galactic Battlegrounds, Force Commander, and Rebellion (aka Supremacy).

Alien vs Predator Extinction on the PS2 is another vaguely Starcraft-esque strategy game (not to be confused with the FPS's of the same name).

X - Beyond The Frontier
X - Tension
X2 - The Threat
X3 - Reunion
X3 - Terran Conflict
X - Rebirth
X4 - Foundations

BUILD - TRADE - FIGHT

I own all these games, even though I can't run X4, it's something to look forward to when I get a new craptop
I love these games, takes a little time to get head around controls but bloody good fun

Master of Orion. On steam if you buy the right bundle you can get a lot of them together.
MOO 1 os ok, MOO 2 is Great, MOO3 is Meh, and MOO "4" is really nice and modern.

$22.49 is not bad for 4 games.

After you start developing ships it turns into quite a strategic as you have to keep an eye on all your ships including setting up trade routes and attack commands (AI controlled)
It's more than just a 3D SEU, more like Elite

Watch a few vids on tube that are "several days into gameplay"
X3/X4 are even more in depth.

You could go way back with commodore amiga and try ufo enemy unknown. I have it and have never played it. just use the fsuae emulator for starters if you do.
