Summary

  • Robot and Monster Girl are joining the Invincible VS roster!
  • Quarter Up, Skybound’s in-house studio, provides behind-the-scenes details on how each of these characters come to life in-game.
  • Invincible VS comes to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title in 2026.

For years, Robert Kirkman’s “Invincible”and its lineup of one-of-a-kind heroes and villains have captivated comic book and television audiences alike. Next year, the superpowered world is set to expand even further into video games with the release of the 3v3 tag fighting game, Invincible VS.

Originally revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, Skybound’s in-house game development studio, Quarter Up, has continued to deliver exciting playable character reveals for fans. Now, I’m excited to share our latest additions guaranteed to shake up the roster.

At ID@Xbox’s recent IGN showcase, we gave a look into Invincible VS’ newest playable fighters, Robot and Monster Girl.

Robot

A key member of the top-notch superhero team Guardians of the Globe, Robot was once a hyper-intelligent, human-controlled drone plagued by severe deformations and illness. With the help of the Mauler Twins, Robot’s mind was duplicated into a healthy human body made from a sample of Rex Splode’s blood. Now, armed with a heavily weaponized suit, he protects Earth from its greatest threats, leaving devastation in his wake.

Boasting both technical prowess and a huge arsenal of ranged weapons, Robot is a highly capable powerhouse in battle. He controls the battlefield from afar, launching missiles and cannons that grant him extra time to unleash his tech, call in for backup, and even set up a deadly blow. Between the major damage from his Beam Blasts and Disruptor, and stuns from his hoverbike, Robot’s enemies don’t stand a chance.

As a team, we’ve always seen Robot as more than just a machine – he’s a deeply empathetic human, even when encased in a metal suit. That factor informed everything that went into Robot’s design, from his taunts to his ultimate move. His romantic relationship with Amanda (Monster Girl) brings even more depth to his character, and we make a nod to that through one of Robot’s taunts. If you look closely, you might spot that Easter egg: a small flower he offers to Amanda.

His ultimate ability, a direct reference to the show, lets him repurpose a truck into a towering robotic creature, while his Disruptor move surrounds him in a shimmering distortion field that launches enemies skyward for brutal combo opportunities. Ever the protector, Robot will even destroy his own inventions if it means keeping others safe, which is one of many details that speak to his heart beneath the armor.

Monster Girl

Amanda A.K.A. Monster Girl wields the unique ability to shift between human form and that of a giant green monster, but doing so comes at a cost. Due to a curse, Amanda ages backwards each time she transforms, leaving her in an adolescent’s body. Despite this, Monster Girl channels her strength and fury to dominate any fight, mercilessly beating down her enemies with unstoppable force.

Relentless, brawny, and fearless, Monster Girl is a brute on the battlefield, using powerful grapples and combo-driven attacks to crush anyone in her path. Her head-spinning hits and bone-shattering body slams, prove she’s not one to underestimate. Even as she grows close to defeat, she harnesses an ability that allows her to grow even stronger, making her an extremely difficult and dangerous fighter to conquer.

From a development standpoint, Monster Girl came together quite easily compared to other characters, being the powerhouse brute that she is. The dev team affectionately calls her the “smallest yet biggest” character in Invincible VS – a take-no-crap beast with a sharp tongue and hard punch. We leaned into her confident, sassy personality with details fans will quickly pick up on.

One of Monster Girl’s taunts pokes fun at opponents for being too small, while her ultimate shows off her flair for drama, briefly reverting back to her Amanda form before dealing a devastating, pro-wrestling-style slam. Her down-heavy attack opens perfect combo opportunities, and pairing her with a character like Robot makes for incredible team chemistry. She’s an incredible fighter who packs both brains and brawn.

Bringing fighters like Robot and Monster Girl into the Invincible VS mix is a joy. Coming from a world of iconic, long-standing characters, we always strive to ensure every move, animation and line of dialogue fits who they each are at their core.

Invincible VS launches in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Players can register here for an Invincible VS Closed Alpha on November 21 to 24, 2025.
