Orginal Xbox 2 Player Port Is not working

I swapped out the port with a known good port and the 2nd player port does not work. I cycle thru with different controllers and that does not work in port 2, also i do notice there is power coming from port 2 as when I plug in a orginal xbox mic dongle the green light does come on, but clicking the mute button does not cycle it to red. I had the time cap removed, but is the time cap responsible for the 2 player port not working? or is there another thing I am not seeing, I can not seem to find any detailed schematics or diagrams to determine the issue. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

if the cap leaked it could have ruined a trace on the board, you should check and make sure you don't have any bent pins on the motherboard connector to that port.

Good Point. I will be sure to check the trace tomorrow when I can, or maybe monday. The pins are in good condition, no bending what so ever. Thank you for the additional steps. I will report back when I can with a update.
