I was really into MAX HEADROOM back in the day. Played amazingly by Matt Frewer who was both a reporter and the mischievous Max Headroom that was spawned from him. His character had quite a presence and influence in 80's pop culture. I was hooked the first episode I have seen even on Canadian TV, Max blew up in all media, it was only after reading articles and researching that I became aware of his true media origins in the UK, but he was embraced everywhere and soon everyone wanted in on the action including brands like Coca Cola! Well he was pretty much the face of NEW COKE but let's not go there....ahem....He even appeared in the Art of Noise music video "Paranoimia", doing the rounds on Talks shows etc.

Why, he even had a Christmas music video!

There was even a real world "incident" surrounding his character 😝

On the night of November 22, 1987, the television signals of two stations in Chicago, Illinois, were hijacked, briefly sending a pirate broadcast of an unidentified person wearing a Max Headroom mask and costume to thousands of home viewers.

Safe to say, I was a fan TO THE MAX! Especially since I appreciated SciFi, Cyberpunk and tech I was hooked from the very first episode and all things that spawned from it. The UK version had much darker undertones, and I was into that to!

Had his poster on my wall, had the T-shirt! loved the U.S. version and then watched the UK version on VHS after learning about it. HERE I AM COMING HOME FROM HIGH SCHOOL GRAD! In hand is the dress shirt I wore with Max with me underneath! 😝
