Favourite rare PS2 games?

What are your favourite rare Playstation 2 games?

For me, I'm a big fan of Culdcept. I only recently discovered the series in the past year, but the game really captured my interest as soon as I read about it; once I booted it up in PCSX2, I was immediately hooked (after some initial confusion). The mechanics of the game are quite simple, but the depth and variety of experiences that you can have is pretty amazing.

I also like Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, and basically built an emulation PC to run it.

It's not necessarily rare but a game I've always had fun with that most people don't talk about is Destruction Derby Arenas.

Or Drakan the Ancients' Gates again not sure if it's exactly rare but I've always enjoyed playing it and love the way they used the right stick to cast magic.

As for one I actually believe to be some what rare is Trapt it's a fun game with some strategy involved.

It's not extremely rare but often overlooked kind of hard to find, but one of my all time favorites that I can remember is "NHL Hitz 2003". Definitely has a cult following to how amazing fun and enjoyable it is. At the time I had only rented it from the video rental store but man, did I miss it dearly. Years later fortunately I was able to pick up a used copy. The disc had all kinds of scratches and never could properly read on my PS2. Though lucky enough I was able to make a copy of it without a hitch and run it through my installed HDD instead (will eventually update it to a SSD).

my Favorite PS2 game is also not too rare but a Gem imho, Dark Cloud 2. played it and got both endings and i still think about about buying it for the PS4.

My all time favorite has to be R.A.D. Robot Alchemic Drive. Fantastic mecha game back when I wasn't into mecha. I've actually owned it twice before but sold it both times to get some new game or another when I was a kid. It's still expensive to this day and I've never seen it in person since the last time I sold it.

The Japanese only release of Arc System Works port of their Atomiswave arcade release, Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) - a really fun fighter, and imo, until recently, the best HnK video game (Sega's Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise is the new holder of the title).
Not rare, but kind of hidden gems - Ring of Red from Konami scratched my Front Mission itch when Square Enix dropped the ball with FM4... and Treasure's surreal platformer Freak Out (aka Stretch Panic).

Depends on the region. While not common here in the UK, it's relatively inexpensive to pick up. It's the 4th game in the Deception series, which started on PS1 and is still going on PS4.

Rule of Rose :)

I wish i had an original but sadly not. Thank god for ESR.

Rule of Rose is probably the only triple-figure expensive PS2 game I'd own if I could justify it.

Not sure if it? really rare, but "S.L.A.I. - Steel Lancer Arena International" is one of my All Time favourites on the PS2, it's a Arcade Style Mech-Action game with a ton of RPG Elements thrown in. I only ever saw a single copy of it in the wild and that's the one I own now.

Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2 on PS2, not extremely rare, but certainly nowhere near common and used to be be quite pricey when you find it (think final fantasy 7 black label), it literally picks up like 5 minutes after the end of the first one iirc, so its best to play the first one first.
