We announced MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls earlier this year in June. This new fighter, co-developed between PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works (Arc), and Marvel Games
sees Marvel’s finest and fiercest go toe to toe. Since its reveal, players’ have had a chance to try its team-based battles at this year’s Evo in Las Vegas and Nice, Tokyo Game Show and a Closed Beta. And players worldwide have another chance to go hands-on with the game next month, as the next PlayStation 5 Closed Beta for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches December 5, 2025 at midnight Pacific Time.

What’s new?
In this closed beta test, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider will be joining the roster, bringing the total number of playable characters to eight. You can freely mix and match heroes and villains to create your own four-character team.
Additionally, two new stages, Savage Land and the X-Mansion will be added to this beta. Each stage includes unique interactive features, so be sure to check them out.
Based on feedback received from the previous closed beta, we’ve implemented numerous improvements, including balance adjustments, performance optimizations, visual enhancements, and user experience upgrades. More details will be shared as we get closer to the beta test.
We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new characters and the updated systems.

When & how to play
The test will begin on Friday, December 5 at midnight (PT) and will run continuously* until December 7 at 11:59 PM, for a total of 72 hours. On December 5 and 6, players will be able to enjoy both CPU battles and online matches, while on December 7, only online battles will be available.
Players who participated in the previous “MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls” beta test will be automatically registered. A reminder email from PlayStation will be sent to you in the coming weeks.
If you previously registered your interest but did not participate in the first beta, please look out for an invitation email.
If you’re joining the closed beta test for the first time, please sign up now.
