Hello everyone,
Just wanted to get some thoughts here. I recently found a job offer from a website many people in my country use to search for jobs. In fact I have found jobs there in the past. Anyways, the offer this time is for administrative assistant. The requirements were: bilingual, basic computer knowledge. And it doesn't require experience. I sent my resume and then I got a call a to go to interview the very next day. He said in the call that I was getting the morning shift. I searched the internet and found no info about the company. The next day. From the looks of it, the business seems to be just starting up. There's only one employee and the merchandise isn't there yet. There's a girl there already being interviewed and another one arrives after me. Then my turn comes. He introduces himself starts explaining what the business is about. I found weird that he only said his last name. The business is about distribution of of all kinds of pesticides. He says that things are bad in our country and that people will have to go back to agriculture and pesticides will be all the rage. He says that he's experienced in this sort of business that he had another one just like that before in another town but he sold it and the guy he sold it to owes him $100,000. Then I say: If it was so good why did you sell it ? Why give the keys to him if he didn't pay ? Then he says he sold it because he was going to retire and that not all transactions are with all the money upfront. He says that this business now is funded by a woman who he refers to by last name only as well. Anyways he says that he thinks I'm good for the job and that I will get the afternoon shift. Then I asked about the morning shift and he says that the first girl he interviewed was so good he had to pick her. He doesn't offer to include me in payroll. He says all payments will be cash only. I asked him if I was going to meet the owner since typically when things are like that you get 2 interviews but he said it wasn't necessary. He said: before you go can you send an email with a purchase order ? When I turned on the laptop there's a password screen and he doesn't know it. He starts guessing and he took like 15 mins to finally log in. Then I open his gmail then I asked him to type his user and password to send the order. To my surprise he doesn't know it either. Another 15 mins passed with him trying to guess. Then he asks if I can use my email instead. To that I said no because I don't want them to ask me anything to my personal account. Then he says: send it to my son and he will send it for me. Anyways he says that I should come next week to work and see if I like it. Then Sunday at 8:30pm he calls me and say that he can't make it and that I should go Tuesday instead at 8:30am. I went there and he wasn't there. I waited for 30 mins and he didn't show up or called. I went back home and he calls at 1:30pm saying he was waiting for me and I didn't show up. I explained to him that he wasn't there in time. Then he says I should go Wednesday at 10 am. This time he was there. Then he says he needs to send another purchase order. And the same thing happens. He can't remember the password. Then he calls a woman (owner I presume) and asks her about the password. He tried many times. But could not log in and they start to argue on the phone. No one knew the password for the email they just created for this business. Then he goes in crisis. He says that he's in too much tension and he shouldn't be there. Then I say: Sir do you really think you can take care of this business? Then he says: Of course because once I hire employees they do everything. Then for the past few days I've been helping him create a catalog for the products. Last Friday he paid me in cash.
I finally found his first name because of an email I had to write for another order. And I searched the web and it seems he keeps opening similar business.
1- October 2007 he opened 2 corporations on the same day
2- April 2008 he opened 2 corporations on the same day
3- January 2016 in USA
When I asked about that he says that one of them he sold it and the guys owes him $100,000 and another corp he sold they owed him $20,000. One he just gave it to his son. And the one in USA it's basically a guy that sends him the stuff. Instead of buying directly to my country he gets companies to ship to his ghost company in USA and then his friend ships.
I 'm thinking about not going there at all and just give him the file so he finds someone else to finish the catalog.
