What is your fav fighting game?

Another tough "favourite in X genre" question...

As much as I had a lot of fun with, and nostalgic fondness for, Fighters from the 16bit cartridge based systems, these days I find that only the NeoGeo titles are still worth playing... so for AES/MVS/NGCD I'd go with Garou Mark of the Wolves and Last Blade 2.

All of Capcoms ports to the Dreamcast are awesome. And on the subject of the Dreamcast; Dead or Alive 2, Soul Callibur, Guilty Gear X, KoF 99 Dream Match, and again Garou and Last Blade 2 are all freakin' amazing. In fact, the Dreamcast is probably my fave system for fighters.

Gotta say though, the current gen (specifically PS4) is nailing it too. The recently released Soul Calibur VI is the best entry in the series since SC2 - a really great game. In terms of more traditional 2d fighters, Arc System Works are going from strength to strength - highly recommend Guilty Gear Xrd and Under-Night In Birth.

Probably Samurai Shodown II on the MVS/AES (hence ChamCham! :) )

But others that are up there include Street Fighter II' CE [Jamma], King of Fighters '97 [MVS/AES], King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match [PS2] and any of the Real Bout Fatal Fury Series [MVS/AES].

Oh, enjoyed Vampire Saviour [SATURN/JAMMA] and X-Men Vs Street Fighter [SATURN/JAMMA] back in the day too.

Edit: oops, almost forgot about Street Fighter Zero 2 on Saturn, played the hell out of that in the mid 90's.

Guilty Gear on Playstation...
How can you not love a game with that soundtrack!
Plus if you did a fatality in round 1, that was it, no round 2 cause your opponent was dead!

I'm not a fan of the dpad on the DC controllers - I play my DC fighters with one of these:

My favorite us a split between King of Fighters 98 and Darkstalkers 3, they're just so damn stylish, KOF definitely has better animation courtesy of SNK and really brutal looking combos, the Orochi ver characters are also completely badass. Darkstalkers, even though it's not technically as good is probably my favorite overall for nostalgia reasons, since my introduction to fighting games started with the Darkstalkers crew in Fighting Evolution and I pretty much became a Jedah main immediately before moving on to Darkstalkers proper.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, it was the only fighting game I really got into or cared about. I'm not usually a fighter fan but I just loved going through and doing each little challenge to get new characters, all the secret fights and such. Was just a fun time, still go through and play it every now and then.

Soul Calibur 2 & 3 ( PS2 )
Tekken 3 ( PSX ) / Tag Tournamment ( PS2 )
Street Fighter 2 ( SNES ) / Street Fighter X Tekken ( PsVita )
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 & 3 ( PS2 / PsVita ) / Capcom Vs SNK 2 ( PS2 ) / SvC Chaos ( NeoGeo )
Dissidia 012 : Final Fantasy ( PSP )
Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring ( PSX )
Rival School ( PSX ) / Project Justice ( Dreamcast )
Dragonball Z Raging Blast 1 & 2 ( PS3 ) / Budokai Tenkaichi 3 ( PS2 ) / GT Final Bout ( PSX )
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters ( NES )
WWE Smackdown SYM & HCTP ( PS2 ) / WWE 2k14 ( PS3 ) / WWE SvR 2006/7/8 ( PS2 )

Shaq-Fu, Genesis (I'm kidding). This is not an easy one to answer lol. Darkstalkers, Street Fighter, Warzard/Red Earth, Art of Fighting, Samurai Showdown, etc. How do you pick one, they each have their unique appeal. Best systems to play any them on is the easy part, it's between Cabinets and Dreamcast.

I have to add that my Current fav Fighter is the New Dragonball Fighterz on steam

Same here... although I suck at it!
I also dig the KOF Series and the Guilty Gear Series
but what really got me into it was Street Fighter II and Tekken 3

I like Tekken 3 and up (i haven't played 7) and soul calibur 2 and 3... i recently started playing street fighter 2 turbo, and it is AMAZING!
